The Fire Department's Wildland Team focuses on keeping the citizens of Orem, Lindon, and Vineyard safe from the threats of wildland fire. This is accomplished through annual fuels mitigation projects, delivering department-wide trainings, and gaining specialized experience by deploying across the country on large wildland fires. Our team has assisted on fires all across Utah and in California, Nevada, Idaho, Oregon, Arizona, Kansas, and Alaska. The real world experience gained on these deployments helps our department be better prepared to protect our own jurisdiction.
