The City of Orem has been awarded the “Tree City USA” title for over 25 consecutive years.
The Urban Forestry Division of the Orem Parks Department is dedicated to maintaining and enhancing the health and beauty of all public trees in our city. Public trees are a valuable asset, contributing to the quality of life, environmental health, and aesthetic appeal of Orem. With an appraised value of over $15 million, these trees represent a significant resource that requires expert care and stewardship.
The Urban Forester oversees a wide range of responsibilities, including:
- Public education and information
- Tree planting and site selection
- Tree protection and pruning
- Pest management
- Tree and species selection
- Stump grinding and, when necessary, tree removal
In addition to managing public trees, the Urban Forester is available to consult with Orem residents and businesses on tree-related issues, offering guidance for the care and management of both City and private trees.
If you have questions or need assistance with tree stewardship, call or text the City at 801-229-7000.
