NOTICE OF CITY COUNCIL

PUBLIC HEARING

The City Council will hold the following public hearing September 8, 2026, at approximately 6:00 p.m. in the City of Orem Council Chambers, located at 56 North State Street, Orem, Utah, to consider the following:

  • PUBLIC HEARING – TEXT AMENDMENT – Amending Section 22-14-7 of the Orem City Code relating to Conservation of Values, allowing one unregistered and/or inoperable vehicle to be parked in driveway; Amending Section 22-6-10 of the Orem City Code relating to Miscellaneous Regulations for Residential Zones, modifying parking requirements in residential zones.; Amending Section 22-18-8 of the Orem City Code relating to Trailer Houses, clarifying that RVs and camper trailers cannot be used for human habitation; Amending Section 22-6-8 of the Orem City Code relating to Residential Zone Developments Standards, clarifying the permitted use of moving containers; Amending Section 22-14-21 of the Orem City Code regarding Regulations Governing Particular Uses, requiring that vehicle sales and repair business submit a site plan and park vehicles according to their site plan; Amending 11-2-3, amending the definition of a nuisance; Amending 16-1-4, allowing the City to remove vegetation obstructing a traffic control device and providing an appeal hearing for property owners; Amending 16-1-6, providing a deadline for snow removal; Creating 19-3-11, prohibiting automobile related businesses from using public streets for storage or parking; Amending 19-6-11, removing incorrect court jurisdiction for violations; Amending 13-1-6, prohibiting the use of city parking lots after curfew; Amending 11-2-26, creating progressively higher fines for nuisances that are not timely abated; Amending 19-5-3, defining “public streets”; Amending 19-3-5, clarifying that trailers, unattached campers, and boats may not be stored on public streets; Amending 19-3-6, requiring vehicles to be moved at least 200 feet every 72 hours; Amending 11-1-2, clarifying the definition of “habitual nuisance.”
