Taste of Orem Assignments – Pete Wolfley
*The Taste of Orem event is scheduled for Saturday, September 19, 2026. The Events committee has asked the Arts Committee to help MC throughout the day.
Public Art Subcommittee Report – Gina Cavallo
*The subcommittee has scheduled a smaller meeting of a couple of members to walk around and inspect the State Street area. They will have an update for the council in October.
Art Ambassador Reports – Stephanie Goodman
*Discussed and presented many options for the city art and displayed various locations.
*Explored formats and media such as-
-Infrastructure: Etched concrete sound barriers and freeway walls
-Bridge and Pedestrian railings.
-Decorative Walkways
-Streetscape: Art wrapped trash cans, decorated light pole attachments that would be interchangeable, bus and train stops, and painted city utility boxes.
-Standalone Art: Sculptures, murals, roundabout centerpieces, and bronze figures
*Discussed target sights in Orem such as City Parks, State Street light posts, freeway underpasses, City Hall complex, transit stops, fire stations, and the new water facility on 400 W/400South.
*Discussed the next steps would be to draft an RFP/RFQ framework, compile a list of artists, conduct a cost analysis, build a digital site map, and align with the Master Arts Plan team.
