Traffic Safety & School Zones

Tree Trimming

The traffic operations staff maintain and are responsible to clear and trim view obstructions of city traffic control devices. They will also reach out and contact property owners that need to remove said obstructions that are caused by their property.

Bike Lanes

The goals for the bicycle and pedestrian path are that they are separated from vehicular traffic where possible and provide a connection between parks and open spaces. It should be noted that separating bicycle lanes from pedestrian walkways is desired.

Road Safety

The traffic operations staff maintains a number of specialty signs located throughout the city, including reduced speed, school signs, and flashing lights.

School Zones

Traffic Operations staff repaints 227 crosswalks, 62 school crosswalks, and many turn arrows and other pavement messages. Contact us if you feel the need for more crosswalks in your school zones.

Bicycle trail masterplan

The Regional Transportation Plan states “Walking and biking can and must be made comforatable, safe, and desirable; otherwise people will for the most part choose other modes.

School Safety Routes

The goal of Safe Routes Utah is to help children get to and from school safely while motivating children to experience the benefits of walking or biking to school.
