Event Permits and Proposals

Q&A

Q: What areas of the city fall under the City Property Use Permit?

A: City Center Park, Scera Park, Mt. Timpanogos Park

Q: What is the difference between a pavilion request and a special event request?

A: A special event request is usually for larger events that are not on city-owned property (city-owned property being parks, the City of Orem facilities and buildings). If you have an event with less than 50 people and only need a park pavilion, a pavilion request is sufficient.

Special events play a vital role in making Orem a vibrant and enjoyable community. From simple pavilion rentals to large festivals and everything in between, a large range of events can be held in Orem.

Depending on the type of event and its size, different requirements apply. In order to simplifiy the process of directing you to the correct form, please fill out the questionnaire below. Based on your answer, you will be directed to either the Special Event Request application, the City Property Use Permit application, or the parks web page where your type of request can be made.

Please keep in mind that for larger events such as festivals, concerts, track meets, or similar activities, there is additional required documentation, such as fees, proof of insurance, and permits. The required additional documentation and registration will be explained to you by our recreation department after you fill out the appropriate form you are directed to by the questionnaire below.
