How do I apply for an Orem Job?

How long do I have to wait to hear back from a job I applied for?
Applications are reviewed in the order they are received. If the job has a closing date, you will be contacted approximately 7 days after it. If it is opened until filled, the hiring supervisors will contact you via email or phone regarding updates on your application.
How often are new jobs posted?
Jobs are posted as openings are made available.
Will my application be automatically included in other similar job recruitments?
No. Each job announcement is a separate recruitment process. You must apply to a specific job announcement to be considered for that job.
I have a disability. Can I get assistance?
Yes, applicants with disabilities may request a reasonable accommodation during the selection process. Please call (801) 229-7001.
Is Veteran's Preference available at City of Orem?
Yes, a veteran, service member, disabled veteran or service member, spouse or surviving spouse of a veteran, purple heart recipient, or a retired member of the Armed Forces is eligible, under UT Code, for veterans preference. Candidates claiming veteran’s preference must attach a copy of their DD214 form to their application.
What employee benefits are offered by the City of Orem?

Does the City of Orem Police Department sponsor candidates through the POST?
No. All candidates must either be already enrolled or have graduated from POST.
Does the CIty of Orem Fire Department sponsor candidates through the Fire Academy?
No. All candidates must either be already enrolled or have graduated from the Academy.
Can I be notified of future job openings?
Yes, you can. On our jobs website, you can click on “Request Notification” and be notified when a job opening is made available.
